For nearly a decade, USA Yeast has been proud to call Hattiesburg home. We opened our first and only production plant in Hattiesburg in 2002 and are one of only two American-owned yeast producing plants in the United States. All of Hattiesburg can be proud of this, just as we are proud to call Hattiesburg our home.

We could have located in a number of cities throughout the Southeast. Numerous cities offered incentives to entice us to locate our facility there. Hattiesburg felt like the right fit – it felt like home.

The City of Hattiesburg granted USA Yeast a generous tax exemption and agreed to an incentives contract that allowed us to locate here and operate competitively. Hattiesburg welcomed us with open arms, and we are thankful for that.

We have been happy to share our successes with Hattiesburg as we try to repay the city’s generosity. Since 2002, we have generated over $5 million annually in local economic impact. Our facility has created nearly 40 jobs over the years for local residents.

We love being in Hattiesburg, and plan to continue to help our hometown by doing what we do best – producing yeast and generating revenue and jobs for the local economy.
